Houston is a very diverse city, and could be considered the melting pot of the South. People from all over the world come to live in the largest city in Texas, and the international community is growing at an exponential rate.  As of 2010, the total population was over 2.1 million people making it the fourth largest city in the USA.

Houston is rich in industrial energy and is the home of a number of oil and gas companies as well as other Fortune 500 companies.  Our city is growing in the technology sector as well. Only New York City has more Fortune 500 companies. Houston also has some of the best quality health care services in the world. Houston also has more restaurants than any other city in the United States. Houstonians love to eat!

A number of sports teams call this city home.  The Houston Texans of the NFL play their home games in the Reliant Arena, next to the former home of the Astros, The Astrodome. The Houston Astros of the MLB now play downtown at Minute Maid Park. The NBA has a franchise here in the Houston Rockets, which have won a number of NBA titles in the 1990s headed by Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler.
